Into its second year, the Festival Wall is an exciting collaboration between the Festival, accounting firm Stubbs Wallace and the students from secondary school Notre Dame College. Asking students what does Shepparton mean to them, where has it come from, where is it going? What are the places, the people, the connections that are important? Art Fridges

Inspired by the Coburg station Book Fridge the Festivals Art Fridge Exchange will be installed in three CBD locations. Each fridge will house different art forms. There will be a book fridge, a film (DVD) fridge and a music (CD / Vinyl) fridge. Each fridge will operate as free exchange libraries for the duration of the festival. Sound Map of Shepparton

The artists have partnered with local Shepparton engineering company CAF Consulting, to take drone images from the sky above Shepparton. These images and sounds related to Shepparton form a ‘fly–through’ video of the city and the basis for a choreographed musical soundscape using primary features of the city as an inspiration for tune, tempo and rhythm of the piece. Winton’s artwork explores the theme of landscapes with a particular focus on the local landscapes that surround him. Selecting various segments of cultivated land from the Goulburn Valley region where he lives Winton paints onto paper using a blend of watercolour and grey lead pencil incorporating photos printed on organza of different materials around his house. Cartonography is the name created by artist Sean Rafferty to describe the process of collecting and mapping Australian fruit and vegetable cartons. In his practice, Rafferty uses processes of collecting, mapping and archiving to search for meanings in the ways that places are represented.
