STORIES THROUGH CLAY

Facilitated by Splinter Contemporary Artists during the Converge on the Goulburn event, participants will be invited to create a small sculpture. Using terracotta, and with a focus on bird forms, the act of creating will prompt the sharing of stories between participants and artists about birds from all over the world and our unique relationships with them.

WEAVING OUR STORIES TOGETHER

Splinter Contemporary Artists will facilitate a community art opportunity during the Converge on the Goulburn event. Using a large sculptural bowl form, participants will be invited to weave a length of material (i.e. fabric, yarn, etc.) into the bowl, representing through line and colour, time and effort, the unique story they bring to the Goulburn Valley.

A true community collaboration, Dookie: The Musical first premiered in 2018. This insightful event presented by John Head (playwright of ‘Dookie’), Wade Gregory (music and lyrics) and Helen Rankin (lyrics) will look at the journey of creating a new Australian musical. Moderated by Sam Birrell, the panel will share insights into the process of crafting a story that is relevant to local audiences. Some musical excerpts will also be shared.
