SAM GOES LOCAL

STUBBS WALLACE ART WALL
The Festival Wall is an exciting collaboration between the Shepparton Festival and accounting firm Stubbs Wallace and the students from secondary schools in Mooroopna and Shepparton. Asking students what does Shepparton mean to them, where has it come from and where is it going? What are the places, people and connections that are important? This temporary art space is where local and emerging artists can be supported, commissioned and curated as part of the Festival program.

Facilitated by Splinter Contemporary Artists during the Converge on the Goulburn event, participants will be invited to create a small sculpture. Using terracotta, and with a focus on bird forms, the act of creating will prompt the sharing of stories between participants and artists about birds from all over the world and our unique relationships with them.

Splinter Contemporary Artists will facilitate a community art opportunity during the Converge on the Goulburn event. Using a large sculptural bowl form, participants will be invited to weave a length of material (i.e. fabric, yarn, etc.) into the bowl, representing through line and colour, time and effort, the unique story they bring to the Goulburn Valley.

AND 22 March @ 10.30am – 11.15am Come and be apart of our special Rhyme and Story Time, The Story Bowl Story Time where members of our community will be sharing traditional fairy-tales and stories from their cultures. We will also be singing some traditional nursery rhymes in a range of languages to celebrate the diverse communities living in our local region.
