This exhibition will be a placement of porcelain and stoneware wheel thrown bottles and bowls that explore the ideas of containment and balance. A bottle form is narrow and constrained in form. A bowl is open and the interior is viewed fully, open to the world. On Tuesday 6 March the Yarra Brass Quintet will delight audiences at La Trobe University with a recital featuring stories drawn from across the ages. Taking influence from medieval Europe, Australia before the first fleet and 1950’s New York City, the Yarra Brass Quintet are a unique group with strong ties to the region. Local brass musicians are encouraged to register for the workshop taking place during the day on Tuesday 6 March.
