CONVERGE ON THE GOULBURN

STORIES THROUGH CLAY

Facilitated by Splinter Contemporary Artists during the Converge on the Goulburn event, participants will be invited to create a small sculpture. Using terracotta, and with a focus on bird forms, the act of creating will prompt the sharing of stories between participants and artists about birds from all over the world and our unique relationships with them.

WEAVING OUR STORIES TOGETHER

Splinter Contemporary Artists will facilitate a community art opportunity during the Converge on the Goulburn event. Using a large sculptural bowl form, participants will be invited to weave a length of material (i.e. fabric, yarn, etc.) into the bowl, representing through line and colour, time and effort, the unique story they bring to the Goulburn Valley.

We will also be singing some traditional nursery rhymes in a range of languages to celebrate the diverse communities living in our local region. FULLY BOOKED Paint What You Hear workshops are directed by musician Erica Rasmussen and visual artist Zakiya Kurdi.
