Gin on the Lawn
March 12 @ 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm$35 Book Now
We would like to welcome you to a new event ‘Gin on the Lawn’ – an afternoon gig in the private orchard and gardens at Findon House. Building on the festivals musical offerings this afternoon event will offer a relaxed stage program spinning the sounds across folk / new country / indie / indie rock / swing / soul and a good dabble of horns – presenting the best in Victorian song writing and new music.
Guests will be welcomed with a complimentary festival gin cocktail. They can then relax in an exceptional private backyard and be treated to a lineup of the Peeks / Miles & Simone / The Marionettes.
From the reflective musings of vocalist Fraser Henry, indie folk act The Peeks have quickly found momentum with the release of their debut album GROW UP/GROW DOWN.
Henry Wagons named The Peeks as one of his “favourite homegrown artists on unearthed”.
Heartbreaker–country duo Miles and Simone weave their lonesome seaside lullabies and heartbreaker ballads with restraint – two sublime voices and an acoustic guitar.
Simone Page Jones, with her operatic voice and theatrical stage presence (a former Rackette from Clairy Browne and the Bangin’ Rackettes), and Miles O’Neil, with his brooding voice and laconic charm shake their tail feathers on stage with their wistful stories and sing harmonies. “The incredibly full–bodied and clean sound produced by two remarkable musicians was ineffable” – Timber and Steel
The Marionettes are an eight–piece band, comprising a talented rhythm section, punchy three–piece horn section and the beautiful and soulful female vocalist, Lorraine Salvador. They compose their tunes using traditional Funk/Soul instrumentation, non–conventional harmonic movement, creating catchy melodic lines.
“…Top Melbourne Jazz musicians improvising, playing Funk/Soul music, coupled with catchy pop melodies. You can’t get better than that!” – Tally Konstas; Tony Starr’s Kitten Club Manager/Owner
A new festival experience everyone has been waiting for!
