March 15 @ 8:00 am - March 31 @ 5:00 pm
‘Bass Bowl’ is a sculpture built in response to the 2019 Shepparton Festival theme of ‘Story Bowl’. It stands at the end of the ‘Rock Correa Walking Track’, on the summit of the ‘Pretty Sally’ hill next to Tallis Wine.
‘The structure represents a combination of natural materials constructed in the shape of a bass clef. A musical instruction to deepen the tone of a song.’
View from the cellar door or up close and personal by walking to the summit. Visitors are encouraged to place a stone at it’s base or weave natural materials and branches into the sculpture.
The track to ‘Bass Bowl’ is rocky in places. Walkers are advised to watch their step and wear sturdy footwear. Water, hat, long pants and sunscreen are recommended. The walk takes approximately 1 hour return.
The sculpture is designed by John Head and built by John Head, and members of the GOATS bike club. Bamboo was donated by Ian Christoe. This is a project supported by Shepparton Foot Clinic, the Shepparton Festival and Tallis Wine.
